New paint - 911 Classic - Making a new paint - 911 Classic

We propose here to follow the work of painting a 911 Classic from U.S. There is no visible rust, but as always, some surprises await us.

The car was painted some years ago, but the result shows a lot of application defects and numerous small bumps, especially on both doors. The doors will be stripped naked to allow us to plane them in order to avoid putting filler.

By scratching a little more on sensitive locations, here in door sills, we can see that the metal sheet is not very thick. We must therefore cut the contaminated areas and make a new formed sheet that fit perfectly. The finish will be made with tin.

Once body work is done, the paint application can be made. Then, assembly and adjustment of all removed items will start with great attention.

When all windows are out of the car, it is time to change the headliner and / or the dashboard cover such as on this car.

All care is taken to assembly and adjustment of the doors, bumpers, seals and moldings. The quality of assembly of those elements will make the quality of the finish of your car.

On this type of work, I recommend to change all the seals of the windows, door seals, traffic light seals, locks seals, mirror seals, front trunk seals and so on.
We strike a new identification plate number of the paint when necessary and fix it with 4 small rivets as origin. In this example we also changed the interior carpets, door sills and steering wheel is made in new leather. Porsche lettering are also often refurbished.

Chrome mouldings on rocker panels are often distorted and do not look very well on a new paint, so we also change them frequently. The round caps of the torsion bars are also painted and assembled with their black seals. The new stickers in the engine compartment are also put in place, as the two joints on the rear center plate. Not to mention the 4 small white plugs on both rear bumpers.
